Master Tenant

When an HGE ID exists in multiple tenants, one tenant is designated as the Master Tenant. The master tenant has special rights over globally visible fields.

What is the Master Tenant?

• Each HGE ID has exactly one master tenant
• The master tenant is automatically set when the HGE ID is created (the first tenant)
• Only the admin of the master tenant can change the HGE ID's name and email
• Changes are automatically synchronized to all other tenants

Master Badge

The master status is shown in the user profile with a green Master badge. Administrators can see the master status in the user detail panel.

Master Transfer

The master status can be transferred:

• Automatically: When the master user is removed from a tenant, the status transfers to the next tenant (by creation date)
• Manually: Via the Transfer Master function in the user detail panel

Restrictions for Non-Master Admins

• Name and email cannot be edited (read-only)
• An info icon shows the hint "Can only be changed by the master tenant"
• Groups and license settings can be managed independently

When Deleting

• Remove from tenant (local): Only the membership is removed. The master status is automatically transferred.
• Delete globally: The HGE ID is permanently deleted (only possible by the master admin or super admin).
