Quick start
The shortest path from "just signed in" to "first device properly managed". Budget about ten minutes. You need access to a tenant and a role with write permission on assets.
1#Sign in
Open the app at app.uslimato.com and sign in with your HGE ID. If you have no access yet, your tenant's administration invites you — Uslimato never hands out self-service access to an existing tenant.
2#Explore the dashboard
Signing in lands you on the dashboard. It sums up the state of your inventory: total assets, active devices, purchase value, and the split by status and device type.
The dashboard is not a fixed layout — you can move tiles, remove them and add more from a pool. Dashboard explains how.
3#Create your first asset
Open Assets in the sidebar and click New asset. Only three fields are required; everything else can follow later.
- Give it a name — something your team will recognise, e.g. "MacBook Pro 14″ M3"
- Pick an asset type — it decides which extra fields the form offers
- Set a status — usually
in_stockto begin with - Optionally add: serial number, manufacturer, model, purchase date, purchase price, warranty
- Click Create asset
Leave asset tag empty and Uslimato assigns the next free number from the number range automatically. Asset inventory has the details.
4#Assign it to a user
Open the new asset's detail page and set Assigned to to a person in your tenant. The status typically moves to in_use with it.
The assignment goes into the audit log automatically — with timestamp, the person who triggered it and the field that changed. You do not have to document it anywhere else.
5#Start a lifecycle process
Editing single fields is fine day to day; for recurring routines like employee onboarding you use a process. It walks you through every step and records what happened when.
- Click Start process on the asset detail page
- Pick the matching process, e.g. *Employee onboarding*
- Complete the steps in order — progress is saved as you go
- Produce the handover protocol at the end, if the process defines one
A process you started stays open and can be resumed at any time — by someone else, on another device.
6#Where to go next
That is the foundation. Sensible next steps, depending on what you are after:
- Build structure: set up Location management and Catalog & models before many devices arrive
- Bring in the team: User management and Multi-tenancy & roles
- Pin down your routines: Lifecycle processes and the Visual process builder
- Automate: connect Microsoft Entra ID or Microsoft Intune instead of maintaining data twice
