User provisioning

Not everyone who holds a device needs a login. Uslimato therefore distinguishes two kinds of user — and you can move between them at any time.

#Local users

A local user exists only as a record: a name that devices can be assigned to. There is no login and no email verification.

That is the normal case for everyone who receives hardware but never works in Uslimato themselves — production, field service, the workshop. They are created under Settings › Users › New user › Local only.

#HGE ID users

An HGE ID user has full access with sign-in, email verification and permissions through groups. They are created under Settings › Users › New user › HGE ID; the person then receives a verification email and has 14 days to confirm it. HGE ID has the detail.

#Inviting an existing HGE ID

If someone already holds an HGE ID in another tenant, you do not create a second account — you invite them:

  1. Open Settings › Users › Invite existing HGE ID
  2. Enter the email address and assign the groups you want
  3. The person confirms the invitation themselves
  4. Once accepted, they appear in your user list

How that path works in detail, and what administration sees afterwards, is covered in Cross-tenant invitations.

#Upgrading and downgrading

  • Grant HGE ID — a local user becomes an account with access. The record stays the same and every device assignment is kept
  • Revoke HGE ID — an account with access becomes a plain record again. Access ends, the assignments remain
Caution
The last person holding administration rights in a tenant cannot be downgraded. That is a safeguard against a tenant locking itself out.

#Plan quota

Only HGE ID users count against your plan's user limit. Local users are unlimited. You can therefore model your entire workforce properly and assign devices by name without paying for a licence per person — see Billing & plan.
